Tate was the last victim of the gruesome night’s events; she was stabbed 16 times until her death. It’s still up for debate as to whether it was Watson, Atkins, or both that fatally stabbed the 8 1/2 month pregnant actress. What was a beloved piece of Hollywood real estate was immediately turned into the scene of one of the most infamous crimes to ever be committed in Hollywood history. Manson was reportedly aware that the two had relocated to Day’s house in Malibu when he plotted the murders. Consequently, the logic behind his orders to kill everyone (or lack thereof) at Cielo Drive has become a matter of much debate.

The two were followers of a recently-paroled Charles Manson. It was the summer of 1966 that would set the home's future gruesome events in motion. Altobelli leased the property to music producer Terry Melcher, the son of Doris Day.

Efforts are being made by SID to identify the manufacturer and distributor of this rope. Progress on their attempts will be reported in future progress reports. Thomas John Sebring, 9810 Easton Drive, Los Angeles, male Caucasian, 35 years of age, 5-6, 120 pounds, black hair, brown eyes.
The day after

Folger was taken momentarily back to her bedroom for her purse, out of which she gave the intruders $70. After that, Watson stabbed the groaning Sebring seven times. Music producer Quincy Jones, who was a friend of Jay Sebring, had also planned to join them that evening.

Freeing himself, Frykowski began struggling with Atkins, who stabbed at his legs with the knife with which she had been guarding him. As he fought his way toward and out the front door, Watson caught up with Frykowski and struck him over the head with the gun multiple times, stabbed him repeatedly, and shot him twice. On Watson’s direction, Atkins found the house’s three other occupants and, with Krenwinkel’s help, forced them to the living room. Watson began to tie Tate and Sebring together by their necks with a rope he had brought and slung up over one of the living room’s ceiling beams.

Through two waterfalls, it emptied into a huge man-made swimming pool which was now lined with moss. Yana had “brought another sister into the world.” She had had her first child, a daughter by her husband, nine months earlier, and, as I noticed that night, she would be having another child too. The daughter, Tana, as well as a few other infants, had been with Yana’s L. A.
A dark night
Now, Franklin has relocated to Florida, and has put the house at Cielo Drive (or Cielo Drive, as the new address states) up for sale. After Sharon Tate’s murder, the house on Cielo Drive changed hands numerous times, but none of the tenants stayed in it too long – perhaps its dark past drove them away, just like it did Trent Reznor. Franklin, the creator of the beloved television series Full House, added a 15-car underground garage, six bars, five aquariums, two swimming pools, and even a museum dedicated to Elvis Presley.
His left arm was at his side, with the left forearm running perpendicular with the ground and his left hand clutched the grass where he was lying. His body was in a north/south direction, the head to the southwest and the lower body to the northeast. (For the position of the body in relation to the Polanski residence, see Addendum 1 and 1B.) Frykowski was attired in a purple shirt, multi-colored pants and brown high-top shoes and socks. Numerous stab wounds were noted about his body with most of them on his left side. He also had stab wounds on his back and defense wounds to his right hand.
Abigail Anne Folger, female Caucasian, 25, 5-5, 120, hazel eyes, brown hair, residence since the first of April, Cielo Drive. She is an heiress to the Folger coffee fortune and has a financial statement of somewhere in the neighborhood of $500,000. She has been living in a common-law relationship with another of the victims, Wojciech Frykowski, for the past two years. Folger supported Frykowski, paying for the rent at the Woodstock address and supplying him with money for his drug habit which included marijuana, hashish, mescalene, MDA and cocaine. The killers, after taking Polanski and Sebring into the living room, stabbed them to death at this point. Sebring was shot in the abdominal region sometime during the assault.
We were reminded of the events in 2017, with the death of Charles Manson, and Quentin Tarantino made us relive parts of that night all over again. The murders were planned to satisfy Manson's thirst for violence and keep his position as a cult leader. It allowed him to continue his predatory behavior, feed his ego, and bring him money. Manson girls often prostituted themselves, as the guys were playing with drug deals and weapons. According to some sources, Steven may have been the last victim. But, that is pure speculation, as the fact remains that the teen lost his life to the Manson family's madness.
Investigating officers are unable to determine whether this occurred on the front porch or after he was taken into the living room. The officers continued onto the property and observed a white Ambassador, two-door sedan, MPK 308, angle-parked in the center of the driveway (Addendum 1A). The front wheels were turned at an extreme angle to the left, as if the driver had intended to exit via the above-described gate. Steven Parent was observed as described in the resume portion of this report. The lights were off; the engine was cool; the ignition switch was in the off, or vertical position, and the keys were in the switch. The gearshift indicator was in second gear; the doors were closed and the driver’s window was down.
It is not clear who was staying at the property between the late 40s and the early 60s. But, the home was once again in the spotlight when Rudolph Altobelli, a Hollywood agent, bought it in 1963. Less than 20 years later, the value raised to 86,000 USD. "I was perfectly happy there. The air was clear and sweet. The view was gorgeous. I rested and read and took care of myself." Wadkins's work, and it represented a modest, European-inspired home away from home.
At this point, it is conjecture as to whether they were tied with the rope before being murdered or after the murder. The rope was undoubtedly brought there by the killers as no one can place this rope at the Polanski home prior to the murder, nor has this type of rope been seen at either Sebring’s home or in his car. Although he has been known to tie women up by the arms at his home and then whip them prior to some type of sex act, he has always used small sash rope. That Tarantino sought expert input about Cielo Drive makes sense. The Tate House, which was originally designed by architect Robert Byrd and built in 1941 at the end of a winding cul-de-sac, no longer exists.
Folger is blood type B, and this is consistent with the B blood that is located at this position. Folger ran south down the hall in an attempt to escape from her assailant. She arrived at the rear door of the master bedroom, and in her attempt to open the door her blood is smeared on the louvered portion of the door. After getting the door open, she exited and ran screaming in an easterly direction toward the split rail fence (Addendum 1B). She was ultimately caught and killed by her assailant.

10050 Cielo Drive may be gone, but pieces of the house remain, scattered to the four winds. As the creator of such hokey family sitcoms as Full House and Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, the writer-producer’s legacy could hardly have been further from that of the land he was about to buy. But when he happened upon Cielo Drive while searching for an upgrade to his 2,500 square foot home in the Hollywood Hills, he was smitten.
His clothing was blood drenched and consisted of a blue shirt, white pants with black vertical stripes and black high-top boots. Built on 3.3-acres of land above Benedict Canyon, the property featured a 3,200 square foot main residence as well as a 2,000 square foot guest cottage. Other features included a swimming pool, a beautiful garden, and a scenic view of the LA basin. Garretson was arrested in the guest house at Cielo Drive. He gave vague, unrealistic answers to questions about his observations and recollections of events occurring in the Polanski house between , 0200 hours and , 0930 hours.
